Admiral Breeding Outline

• All females and cria at side must be health certified by a licensed veterinarian prior to arriving at an Admiral farm.

• All maidens must have a reproductive exam prior to being bred.

• Females and cria at side are boarded at no cost for 60 days. After 60 days, boarding fees of $100 per month will be assessed for each animal. Any vet bills or non-routine care will be billed to the females's owner.

• Computer generated records with breeding dates, length and behavior

• Pregnancy Diagnosis results (1vet-read ultrasound included)

 

Breeding conducted at an Admiral Owner’s Farm:

Day 1: Expose male and female for 5 to 10 minutes and allow breeding

Day 7: Expose male and female for 5 to 10 minutes the second time – allow breeding

Day 14: Expose male and female for 5 to 10 minutes and allow to breed for the third time

Day 21: Expose male and female for 5 to 10 minutes, if the female is receptive we DO NOT allow them to breed. The vet will be called to do an examination. If the female is not receptive, schedule ultrasound to confirm pregnancy.

 

Drive-by Breeding:

We offer drive-by breeding services up to 250 miles from Portland Maine.

• The female must be examined by a vet to determine follicular activity prior tos bringing Admiral to your farm.

• Owner of female to provide a safe place for breeding.

• Owners must be there at the time of breeding.

• Pregnancy diagnosis will be at the female owner’s cost.
